Let’s get into it…

Ryan Leaves Safemoon

Fuck.

My day started out by seeing a tweet from Ryan saying that he’s no longer part of the Safemoon team.

My first initial thoughts were “What the fuck happened?!!?” and “That seems like a pretty big fucking deal!!”

But as the day rolled on, my knee-jerk concerns were lessened and my dramatic ass calmed down a bit the more I processed the situation.

Ryan didn’t leave Safemoon or bail on the project because he didn’t believe in the long-term vision of the project. He spoke for a good length of time in Twitter spaces today and there was no indication of his disdain for upcoming Safemoon products or anything to give current long-term investors a reason to question what’s to come.

His reason for leaving seems to be angled at wanting to have more influence of specific project initiatives and maybe felt too constrained on that situation. That’s just my speculation.

But one thing that doesn’t seem to have waivered is his his general belief in the project as a whole.

But of course, the fucking price dipped.

Ryan was definitely an influential, respected, major voice in the Safemoon Army so it wasn’t too surprising that some people shit the bed and sold their bag. Expected.

But then something happened.

The press release happened.

Nice. John does a bit of damage control.

Yes, it still sucks that Ryan is leaving the team, but Safemoon quickly announcing that they are adding three (3) industry-leading experts to the leadership team was a pretty savvy move.

Definitely a smart, calculated CEO move in my opinion. John is evolving.

That announcement eased my nerves a bit.

As an early investor, I’m all about bringing some big-brain experience to the Safemoon eco-system and these guys seem to be top notch.

I don’t see these new hires as a replacement for what Ryan was doing, but I do see them filling key voids in our project needs. You can read more about them here.

Oh, and I’m really fucking glad that Ryan isn’t bad-mouthing Safemoon or talking shit about what is taking place inside the walls of Safemoon headquarters.

He’s been civil, respectful and you can definitely still hear his passion on what he has helped create and what will be launched in the future.

As far as I remember, there hasn’t been once instance of any former Safemoon employee leaving the team and then spending their time shitting on the long-term vision that John obviously has and adheres to.

Disagreements and strong opinion differences obviously happened behind the scenes with the core team in the past, but I believe most of those reasons for their leaving were more of a personal nature, and not because the overall belief in the project vision was skewed.

Safemoon has a foundational belief and John Karony is doing everything in his power to achieve those goals.

That leaves me feeling bullish.

Much respect to Ryan for all the blood, sweat and sleepless nights he’s contributed to advancing the Safemoon agenda. He irreplaceable. There’s not another Ryan Arriaga.

We’re lucky to have had him on the team and I wish him nothing but the best for his adventures to come.

But fellow Safemoon holder… our own adventure continues.

We’ve been battered. We’ve been roughed up. But we are still here and we’re not fucking selling.

Our captain has set our course for greatness and has never said that path would be a fucking cake walk. Safemoon is a trailblazer in the crypto space. Safemoon doesn’t follow. We fucking lead.

And sometimes that exciting, uncharted journey gets pretty shitty, but we do what we always do. We hodl.

We hodl because we believe in the project. We hodl because we believe in John. We hodl because we believe that the time Ryan spent at Safemoon has made the product better, stronger and one step closer to something amazing in DeFi.

That Safemoon documentary is going to be fucking epic.
